THROUGH THE FIRST ROUND ...

Spread: Underdogs are 16-14 against the spread, with one "pick 'em" for which the spread was 0.

Moneyline: Favorites are 18-9 outright, with one "pick 'em" and three games not on the board.

Total over/under: 19 games have gone "Under" the scoring total, 11 games have gone "Over," and there has been one "Push."

No. 5 Colorado 96, No. 12 Georgetown 73

Spread: Colorado (-5.5) covers by winning by more than 5.5 points (23).

Moneylines: Colorado (-275) wins; a $10 wager on Colorado would have won $3.64, plus your $10 back. Georgetown was a +205 underdog.

Total over/under: OVER 138 total points scored (169 combined points)

Jabari Walker and Colorado made quick work of Georgetown in their first-round matchup and started the day with an easy "Over."

No. 4 Florida State 64, No. 13 UNC Greensboro 54

Spread: UNC Greensboro (+10.5) covers by losing by fewer than 10.5 points (10).

Moneylines: Florida State (-700) wins; a $10 wager on Florida State would have won $1.43, plus your $10 back. UNC Greensboro was a +450 underdog.

Total over/under: UNDER 145 total points scored (118 combined points)

Florida State pulled away from UNC Greensboro in the final minutes to advance, but the Seminoles couldn't quite complete the cover.

No. 3 Kansas 93, No. 14 Eastern Washington 84

Spread: Eastern Washington (+10.5) covers by losing by fewer than 10.5 points (9).

Moneylines: Kansas (-700) wins; a $10 wager on Kansas would have won $1.43, plus your $10 back. Eastern Washington was a +450 underdog.

Total over/under: OVER 146.5 total points scored (177 combined points)

Marcus Garrett and David McCormack helped carry Kansas into the second round and sent this game well over the total. Still, Eastern Washington managed to cover by keeping the margin under double digits.

No. 8 LSU 76, No. 9 St. Bonaventure 61

Spread: LSU (-1.5) covers by winning by more than 1.5 points (15).

Moneylines: LSU (-125) wins; a $10 wager on LSU would have won $8, plus your $10 back. St. Bonaventure was a +100 underdog.

Total over/under: UNDER 144.5 total points scored (137 combined points)

Cameron Thomas scored 27 points to lead 1.5-point favorite LSU into the second round and to a no-sweat cover.

No. 1 Michigan 82, No. 16 Texas Southern 66

Spread: Texas Southern (+25.5) covers by losing by fewer than 25.5 points (16).

Moneylines: Off the board

Total over/under: OVER 142.5 total points scored (148 combined points)

Michigan was never in danger against a 16-seed in the opening round; the Wolverines were never particularly close to covering the massive 25.5-point spread, either.

No. 5 Creighton 63, No. 12 UC Santa Barbara 62

Spread: UC Santa Barbara (+7) covers by losing by fewer than 7 points (1).

Moneylines: Creighton (-300) wins; a $10 wager on Creighton would have won $3.33, plus your $10 back; UCSB was a +225 underdog.

Total over/under: UNDER 138.5 total points scored (125 combined points)

A cover is likely no solace for UCSB, which was a last-second missed layup away from pulling off a straight-up upset.

No. 2 Alabama 68, No. 15 Iona 55

Spread: Iona (+17) covers by losing by fewer than 17 points (13).

Moneylines: Alabama (-3300) wins; a $10 wager on Alabama would have won $0.30, plus your $10 back. Iona was a +1000 underdog.

Total over/under: UNDER 147.5 total points scored (123 combined points)

Alabama pulled away from Iona in the second half after flirting with disaster for much of the game. Had Iona pulled off an upset, a $10 wager on the Gaels would have won you $100, plus your $10 back.

No. 6 USC 72, No. 11 Drake 56

Spread: USC (-6) covers by winning by more than 6 points (16).

Moneylines: USC (-260) wins; a $10 wager on USC would have won $3.85, plus your $10 back. Drake was a +215 underdog.

Total over/under: UNDER 135.5 total points scored (128 combined points)

USC brought the nation's 14th-ranked defense to bear against Drake, earning the cover, the win and a second-round matchup with No. 3 Kansas.

No. 2 Iowa 86, No. 15 Grand Canyon 74

Spread: Grand Canyon (+14.5) covers by losing by fewer than 14.5 points (12).

Moneylines: Iowa -1600 wins; a $10 wager on Iowa would have won $0.63, plus your $10 back. Grand Canyon was a +750 underdog.

Total over/under: OVER 144.5 total points scored (160 combined points)

Iowa won the first game on its quest to a national title and will face Oregon on Monday, but another double-digit underdog covered.

No. 13 Ohio 62, No. 4 Virginia 58

Spread: Ohio (+7.5) covers by winning outright and also would have covered if it lost by fewer than 7.5 points.

Total over/under: UNDER 131 total points scored (120 combined points)

Ohio used a 16-2 second-half run to fuel an upset of the 2019 champs – the first upset of the day.

No. 10 Maryland 63, No. 7 Connecticut 54

Spread: Maryland (+3) covers by winning outright and also would have covered if it lost by fewer than 3 points.

Moneylines: Maryland (+125) wins; a $10 wager on Maryland would have won $12.50, plus your $10 back. Connecticut was a -162 favorite.

Total over/under: UNDER 130 total points scored (117 combined points)

Maryland was right behind Ohio with another outright upset, moving on to face Alabama in the Round of 32.

No. 8 Oklahoma 72, No. 9 Missouri 68

Spread: Oklahoma covers by winning outright, as the spread was 0 (or a "pick 'em").

Moneylines: Oklahoma (-110) wins; a $10 wager on Oklahoma would have won $9.09, plus your $10 back. Missouri was also -110.

Total over/under: PUSH on 140 total points scored (140 combined points)

In a fun series of events, the only game in the first round that was a "pick 'em" also became the first game to have the final score land exactly on the predicted total over/under.

No. 1 Gonzaga 98, No. 16 Norfolk State 55

Spread: Gonzaga (-33) covers by winning by more than 33 points (43).

Moneylines: Gonzaga (-10000) wins; a $10 wager on Gonzaga would have won $0.10, plus your $10 back. Norfolk State was a +1200 underdog.

Total over/under: UNDER 154 total points scored (153 combined points)

Facing the largest spread of the first round, the No. 1 team in all the land took care of business in a game that went "Under" by just one point.

No. 11 UCLA 73, No. 6 BYU 62

Spread: UCLA (+3.5) covers by winning outright and also would have covered if it lost by fewer than 3.5 points.

Moneylines: UCLA (+142) wins; a $10 wager on UCLA would have won $14.20, plus your $10 back. BYU was a -168 favorite.

Total over/under: UNDER 138.5 total points scored (135 combined points)

UCLA's improbably tourney run will extend into the second round, thanks to a double-digit win as an underdog.

No. 14 Abilene Christian 53, No. 3 Texas 52

Spread: Abilene Christian (+9) covers by winning outright and also would have covered if it lost by fewer than 9 points.

Moneylines: Abilene Christian (+333) wins; a $10 wager on Abilene Christian would have won $33.30, plus your $10 back. Texas was a -500 favorite.

Total over/under: UNDER 140.5 total points scored (105 combined points)

What a way to wrap up the first round! This one wasn't always pretty, but Abilence Christian pulled off a thrilling, stunning upset with two clutch free throws in the closing seconds.

No. 10 VCU vs. No. 7 Oregon (CANCELED)

Spread: Oregon -7

Moneylines: Oregon -225; VCU +175

Total over/under: 137.5 total points scored

Oregon vs. VCU was declared a no-contest due to COVID-19 protocols. Oregon advances to the next round.
